Designed by Tory Orzeck, the original Nike Air Footscape made its debut in 1996. The Footscape Woven, which is a hybrid of the Air Footscape and Air Woven silhouettes, first released in the mid-2000s. This version took the original Air Footscape design and added the distinctive woven upper.
The woven technology used in the Air Footscape Woven was originally inspired by oldest woven sandals.
